How to Use Teacher Ally<\/h2>\n <\/div>\n

The administrator of your school\u2019s Learning Ally membership can give educators the following roles and abilities. Every educator receives their own account \u2014 log in at\u00a0LearningAlly.org\/login<\/a>\u00a0to begin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n

ADMINISTRATORS<\/h3>\n <\/div>\n

Go to MANAGE EDUCATORS<\/strong> and ADD AN EDUCATOR<\/strong>. Select the APPROPRIATE ROLE <\/strong>if applicable.<\/p>\n

The Data Manager<\/strong> role allows the user to add\/update user rosters in bulk.<\/p>\n

The Library Manager\u00a0<\/strong>role allows users to edit what books are available in student search.<\/p>\n

Both educators and admins have the ability to certify students to use the program. There is no limit on the amount of admins\/educators that can be added to an account.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n

ADDING STUDENTS<\/h3>\n <\/div>\n

Go to\u00a0MANAGE STUDENTS<\/strong>\u00a0to begin adding students.<\/p>\n

Click\u00a0ADD A STUDENT\u00a0<\/strong>to add an individual student, or if you are a Data Manager<\/strong>, click ADD\/UPDATE STUDENTS FROM FILE<\/strong> to bulk upload multiple students.<\/p>\n

Create a username and password that will be easy for your student to remember. Complete form and click CREATE STUDENT<\/strong>\u00a0to save.<\/p>\n

If your Learning Ally account is integrated with a rostering service like CLASSLINK<\/strong> or CLEVER,<\/strong> the student accounts may already be created.<\/p>\n

Search the student name or number to locate existing accounts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n <\/div>\n\n\n

Follow the steps below to qualify students and add them books.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n

ELIGIBILITY<\/h3>\n <\/div>\n

Once your students have been added into Learning Ally, they will need to be QUALIFIED<\/strong> to use the program.<\/p>\n

Data Managers<\/strong> can qualify eligible students in bulk from the ADD\/UPDATE STUDENTS FROM FILE\u00a0<\/strong>option on the MANAGE STUDENTS<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n

Both Admins<\/strong> and Educators<\/strong> have the ability to qualify students on an individual basis from the Manage Students tab by following the steps below:<\/p>\n

You can search for the student you need to qualify by name or student number, or use the “filter by status”<\/strong> option and select “Pending Qualification”<\/strong> to bring up a list of all none-qualified students.<\/p>\n

To the right of the students name and information under the eligibility<\/strong> column, choose select<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the popup window, select the eligibility type that applies to the student.<\/p>\n

Select save, the student will now have full access to Learning Ally’s audiobook library.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n

ADDING A STUDENT TO YOUR DASHBOARD<\/h3>\n <\/div>\n

Educators and Admins can add and remove students from their My Students<\/strong> list directly from the Manage Students<\/strong> tab. Adding a student will allow you to track their reading data as well as add books directly into their bookshelf. Follow the steps below to do so:<\/p>\n

1.) Navigate to your Manage Students<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n

2.) Use the filter or search options to bring up the students you would like to add.<\/p>\n

3.) Under the Actions<\/strong> column furthest to the right, select the + MY STUDENTS<\/strong> button to add a student to your My Students<\/strong>. You can also bulk add students by selecting the checkbox to the left of each desired student and selecting the + MY STUDENTS<\/strong> button located below<\/strong> the table on the right.<\/p>\n

4.) To remove a student, under the Actions<\/strong> column select the – MY STUDENTS<\/strong> button to remove a student from your My Students<\/strong> list. Click the Dashboard\u00a0<\/strong>to see your My Students<\/strong> list.<\/p>\n

ASSIGNING BOOKS<\/h3>\n <\/div>\n

Each student must be marked as eligible before books can be downloaded.<\/p>\n

Go to\u00a0BROWSE AUDIOBOOKS<\/strong>\u00a0or the\u00a0SEARCH BAR<\/strong>\u00a0to find and select a title.<\/p>\n

Click\u00a0ADD TO BOOKSHELF <\/strong>to assign a book to your own Bookshelf. Click ASSIGN BOOK<\/strong> to assign books to one or multiple students.<\/p>\n

Encourage students to read and begin tracking progress \u2014 go to your DASHBOARD\u00a0<\/strong>to begin tracking the reading progress of students assigned to you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n

UPDATING\/ARCHIVING\/DELETING<\/h3>\n <\/div>\n

Students should be updated or archived each new school year.<\/p>\n

Go to the ACTION<\/strong> tab under MANAGE STUDENTS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select UPDATE<\/strong> to change a student\u2019s school or grade level.<\/p>\n

Current books will remain on bookshelf. Select ARCHIVE<\/strong> if this student no longer uses Learning Ally at your school.<\/p>\n

After archiving, your Administrator\/Master Admin can select DELETE<\/strong> if you would like to completely remove the student\u2019s profile from your school.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n <\/div>\n\n\n
