This year\u2019s games brought a record number of participants with more than 189,300 students who read over 37 million pages in just seven weeks. The program supports teachers\u2019 efforts to empower students with learning deficits, like dyslexia, to read more books, and become independent readers and learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2024-winning-schools\">2024 Winning Schools<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adams Middle School, TX<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chapin Intermediate School, SC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cornerstone Charter Academy High, FL<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Daytona Juveniles Residential Facility, FL<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dickinson Jr High School, TX<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dionne Warwick Institute, NJ<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>East Orange Campus High School, NJ<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>French Road Elementary School, NY<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Herndon Middle School, VA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mort Elementary, FL<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Patrick Francis Healy Middle School, NJ<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stephen F Austin Elementary School, TX<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Great Reading Games educator members of Learning Ally receive pre-made teacher resources and use the Learning Ally app to track students&#8217; reading activity on a sliding point schedule. The Games incentivize students to read in and out of school through friendly competition. Students accumulate points in one of 12 brackets based on grade level and school size. Winners include schools, teachers, and students who can win prizes and national recognition. Educators report positive reading outcomes correlated with increased reading scores, deeper connections with students, and the ability for more students to read grade-level text and complex material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Innovative teachers leverage the&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/c212.net\/c\/link\/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=3802572-1&amp;h=513816845&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Flearningally.org%2FSolutions-for-School%2FGreat-Reading-Games&amp;a=Great+Reading+Games\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Great Reading Games<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;to enhance their teaching capacity, and expand their class and school libraries with accessible books. Many school literacy leaders have also implemented school-wide reading initiatives to create a culture of strong, inclusive readers, and taken steps to broaden their professional knowledge of the science of reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Terrie Noland, Learning Ally&#8217;s Vice President of Educator Initiatives said, &#8220;It&#8217;s always thrilling to wrap up another successful year of the Great Reading Games.
